The School of Cookery is where you can learn tricks of the trade, master the most delicious of recipes, and work side-by-side with our team of professional in-house chefs to perfect your cooking skills. From pasta making and sushi masterclasses to sessions focusing on the art of cooking game, each lesson is hands-on, down to earth, and lots of fun. Private and group classes available from October to March. 

Gerard Molloy

Head Chef at The School of Cookery

The School of Cookery is overseen by Chef, Gerard Molloy, who has over 15 years’ experience working in prestigious kitchens across the UK, including Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, Soho Farmhouse and L’Ecrivain Dublin. Born and raised in Ireland, he won Irish Young Chef of the Year in 2004 and went on to train and work internationally in the USA, Switzerland and Brazil. Gerard combines his international influence with his love of British produce to bring a fresh perspective to The School of Cookery where classes range from lessons in Thai cookery and Japanese sushi to vegetarian garden cooking and the creation of jams, chutneys and preserves. His passion for culinary and teaching is driven by the desire to please and excite both guests and the palate by renewing everyday cooking with modern ingredients and global inspiration, in a beautiful surrounding at Beaverbrook.
